Direction-Based Navigation

A cursor control method where users issue directional commands such as "move left," "move up," or "move down" to reposition the cursor on screen. In speech-based implementations, these commands move the cursor continuously or in fixed increments. Direction-based navigation is intuitive but can be slow for large distances and is sensitive to the distance between the cursor and the target, unlike grid-based approaches that eliminate the effect of distance on task completion time.
